Volunteer Opportunities
UCLA Health System facility.
Working with a volunteer coordinator, each volunteer will design a
schedule that best fits his or her availability. Prospective volunteers meet
individually with a volunteer services coordinator to discuss their interests,
the more than 200 specialized volunteer jobs available, and their preferred
time commitment. Each person is then matched to an appropriate department and
volunteer assignment.
Good Samaritan
Hospital – Los Angeles. As a volunteer, you may: escort and discharge
patients, deliver lab specimens, assist with clerical duties, perform data
entry and word processing, brush up on computer skills, assemble patient
charts, visit and read to patients.
Program requires a minimum commitment of six months, and at least 12
hours a week.
Children’s Hospital –
Los Angeles, CA. Volunteers needed
who can give at least six months of service, 100 hours of service, and a weekly
schedule that includes the same day and time every week. Opportunities with
direct patient care include: assisting in patient care units, outpatient
services, Emergency Department and the Child Life Playrooms, along with other
areas.
Orthopaedic Hospital – Los Angeles, CA. Volunteers
should commit to a minimum of 50 hours per year and must be available to
schedule volunteer hours Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and
5:00pm.
