James Naismith invented
the basketball, to condition young athletes during the winter. The game was invented in the year 1891 in Springfield,
Massachusetts. The concept of basketball was born from Naismith’s school days
in the area where he played simple game known as duck-on-a-rock outside of his
one-room schoolhouse. The objective of the game was to throw the basketball,
into the fruits baskets nailed to the lower railing of the gym balcony. The game
became established fairly quickly, becoming very popular as the 20th
century progressed, first in American and then throughout the world. The game involved attempting to known a “duck”
off the top of a large rock by tossing another at it. The basketball is
different that when started , for example: today the game count with more
rules, the people are most interesting in the game and that makes the game be
more popular than years ago. In the school, colleges’ students have more
attention in the basketball games. Today the basketball is a very popular game
in the world.
